My dad makes it a point to be there for mother's day, father's day, me and my siblings birthday...no matter how busy he is.

Even if only spend half and hour or 1 hour he will be there, then he will be off to other functions.

Don;t know how people can be like that, only remember the person when the 'need' arises.

You wife very lucky to have you. And thanks to your stories, will learn a thing or two from you. 'How to be a gentlement'..hehe.

hehe..my handicap at the moment is 20. The best i had was 17, 2 years ago...then long time did not play or only play social golf.Nightwinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08486754485742899832noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7794594655006661752.post-65653050005673492742007-09-11T10:43:00.000+08:002007-09-11T10:43:00.000+08:00Hello Nyonyapenang, ya sometimes when we are too b...Hello Nyonyapenang, ya sometimes when we are too busy with our work, we left out the little little things in our lives. It is always easy to say, "I have no time".
Then suddenly hears of a good friend passing away, someone they never had time to say 'hello' past few years, comes to the funeral, tells the bereaved wife or husband, "please let me know if I can do anything for you".
Or, never contacting a friend past 18 years, not one New Year card, not even a postcard, or a phonecall, or returning a call, it being 'out of sight, out of mind', then decides to go on a holiday to London with the family, sudddenly remembers this friend and phones, sends letters every few days. How come? Elementary. Free lodging.
Then when they return home, the 'friend' will be forgotten again. Not even a 'thank you card.
2/ Relatives who somehow forget your existence. There have been many cases of people who migrated and no contact from their relatives.
This is a true story. A young 21 year old girl born of immigrant parents in a North American country wins the BIG ONE, a $30 Million lottery jackpot.
Within days she receives phone calls, followed by letters from relatives whom she had never seen before. One aunty wrote, "uncle and I have always thought and talked about you". They have never seen her.
Yes Nightwings, friendship and love is now, today, not when its too late or if there's '$millions'.
I love my wife everyday like I just fell in love with her yesterday. Never a day passes without my holding her hand and saying 'I love you'. Because one day it might be too late, for one of us.
Keep well, Nightwings. UL.
ps, whats your handicap? 3? You have expressed your thoughts so beautifully here.

You said, ...' and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or three words needing to be said'...Gosh you took those words right out off my mouth and am working at them. Wow! Like you were reading my mind.

Thank you for this post. Touched.ruby ahmadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00462582684731705669noreply@blogger.com
