Warning....Traffic
Got this from email. Please pass the message along.
Dear Friends,
If you are used to paying 'Kopi Money' when stopped for traffic offences, DON'T Do This Again.
The traffic department has recently started a campaign to be rid of corruption. The officers on duty will be rewarded RM100.00 when they report each case to the department. This is how they do ( trick you into) it. They will note down the details of your IC/MyKad, and ask you how you want to settle (Paying Kopi Money?). They will then report the incident by passing up the 'Kopi Money' and get the RM100.00 in
return for their good deed. You will end up having a summon issued to you.
DON'T PAY KOPI RM AGAIN, especially if you hope to go free with RM20 kopi money. They rather have a 'good' name than to take your kopi money. Just beware of their trick because the cops are now clocking up 'cookies' points for their promotion and pay increment.
They should have done this to stop corruption long time ago, anyway better late than never...

Nightwing,
Timely reminder as I always have the tendency to 'settle' for the cheaper amount than pay the full compound.
Helo Pak Zawi,
Ya, better settle full...never know police nowadays.
hehe..reminds me, i still owe them one summon..:)
Really ka..oh like that I will post it on my blog...OK?
can one say 'entrapment' ? .. :)
have a nice week!
nightwing,
hahaha, i have no surat cinta, whatsoever from the cop as i never misbehave on the road...so far. but you see, this is an effective way to overcome corruption in the force.
thanks for sharing this!I am going to pass this message to my faily in m'sia.
Hi Sue,
Please go ahead...its a warning to everyone.
Hi Ms Envy,
Yep, thats the word.
U have a great week ahead too.
Cheers.
Helo Akmal,
Yep agree with ur statement...which is why at the end of the letter, the author mentioned, should have done so long time ago to curb corruption.
U keep on doing what u r doing and don;t think u will get any 'surat cinta'hehe.
Hi Sweetiepie,
Please pass the message to family and friends.
I am sure they may have read about it but no harm in reminding them again.
Oh...hopefully this'll be a good solution for decreasing the corruption case in Malaysia. Ooppss..I think I will drive carefully on the road next time to avoid the summons. Haha..train me to be a good driver. So far, I just got 1 summon and had settled the amount. ^_^
Hi Florence,
Hehe..i am sure u know how to be a good driver...:)
First thing - lock the door once in the car.
Second - put on sit belt
Third - never answer or sms during driving. If need to, do it at the side of the road.
hehe...the rest of the serious ones i am sure u know how to advoid...like going through red light (during nite times) and etc.
Ah, I used to offer duit kopi.. long time ago lah... more than 10 years... hehe
Hi Cat,
Hehe..at least now no need to offer already..:)
We took a U turn near Bandar Utama a few years ago and were stopped by the police. He didn't want to write us a ticket (said he didn't want to spoil our holiday/cuti) but asked for 50 Ringgit. We gave it to him but MIL freaked out when we told her(and that we gave too much, might as well pay the fine ). So scared that the police will report us for bribing him.
Helo Anon 1:41,
Thanks you for your visit and comment.
Ya, it can be scary to give them...one will never know whether they will report or not.
But that was fews year back..now no choice they have incentive to report...imagine now, if one give them...then they report...also get reward...its like getting double pay already.
Better play safe now.
Take care now..cheers.
