Be careful....

Got this from Sting's blog.

I was shocked to read it and will like to share it here so you all be careful and warn your family and friends. Its a real thing that happened to her friend and she shared her friend's email.

Dear all

Hope you are well. Would just like to share with you something that happened yesterday afternoon in hope that the knowledge will help parents prepare against such a happening.

There was an attempt to kidnap my baby from my parents’ house yesterday late afternoon (6.45p.m.). A black coloured car (make unknown) with a young Chinese couple (well dressed, polite and well spoken) came by my parents house. When my mom answered the door bell and went to the front gate they claimed to be relatives of my husband (said my husband’s surname) and that they had been asked the grandmother to come pick up my baby to bring my baby back. My mom told them that she is the grandmother and they responded by saying its my husband’s mom. Luckily my mom told them to wait and that she was going in to call my husband. When she went back into the house (locked both the grill and wooden door after her) and called my husband, they left.

We confirmed with my mother-in-law that she hadn’t send anyone over. Nor did most of his relatives know our house. Have made a police report.

Please take the following precautions (please tell your kids/maids/moms/babysitters):
-Don’t go near the gate – make sure you stand a distance away when you speak with any visitors so that they cant reach and grab you or spray things into your face

- Keep the phone number of the security guard or local police beat in a prominent place both upstairs and downstairs for emergencies.

-Brief (and repeat on and off) your kids/maid/moms/babysitters to never let your children go with anyone other than yourself or to first call and verify and confirm with you.

That's so scary to read what had happened... The couple weren't that smart either. Under no circumstances a sane people would gave the baby to a total stranger. Betul tak..??

Nightwing said...

Hi Cat,

Ya you are rite but sometimes, even a 'friend' also cannot be trusted..unless double confirmed.

Nightwing said...

Hi Bento,

Ya...real sick people. Even if time is hard, should do such a thing.

Maybe this sickos wanted the baby for ransom or sell to other people.

Really hope something will happend to these kind of people.

Hi Nightwing, didn't she phone the cops immediately?
They must have seen, studied and did some research on her.
Good thing she had the presence of mind call her hubby.
Few years ago, a very young Chinese girl was kidnapped from her bedroom at night, by someone, a tenant from o/seas living in the house....the parents searched all over than called the cops...and the biggest manhunt in history of Toronto started, helicopters, cops on horses, everywhere police cars, cops everywhere...altogether more than 600, yes..600 cops searched for her, house to house, schools, forests etc...helicopters circling overhead...that area and surrounding area looked like a war zone....highways signboards flashing LED info of 'missing girl', US cops, Interpol informed...within the hour.
We have never seen so many cops, police cars etc.
But regret, a jogger found her body many miles away, in a forest, murdered.
Here the cops take it very seriously any kidnapping and everyone knows, an army of cops will be looking. And glad to say, we hardly hear of kidnappings...
You stay easy and good of you to post this news, Lee.

thanks for the warning. The trick could work if you have a maid, especially new maid who doesn't even know your whole family yet. That's how most of the house got rob too. I remember my sister always warn her maid not to open the door to anyone.

Hi Monica,

Ya..things some people will do.

Nightwing said...

Helo Uncle Lee,

According to the email, her mother went into the house to make a phone call to confirm....when she came out, the ding dongs went off already.

Nightwing said...

Hi Yatie,

Ya...u r rite..maids must always be reminded not to simply open doors or answer phones.
